PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, JULY 8, 2003.

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in regular session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, July 8, 2003, at five-thirty (5:30) o’clock p.m.  The meeting was called to order by the Honorable Lynn White, President, who after prayer by Rev. Johnnie Brown and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mr. Darrell Crofford, Mr. Don Joseph, Ms. Martha Rabb, Mr. Raymond Riley, Mr. Lynn White, Mr. Ricky Raven, Rev. Johnnie Brown, Ms. Mary Campbell and Mr. Jimmy Wilkinson.

The Board recognized Ashley Rose Coco of Monterey for winning second place nationally for second graders for her story Smokey and the Garbage Can Mystery.

It was moved by Rev. Brown, seconded by Ms. Campbell and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of June 10, 2003.

It was moved by Mr. Crofford, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried to approve invoices for the month of June in the amount of $2,711,082.

It was moved by Mr. Crofford, seconded by Rev. Brown to enter into Executive Session at 6:40 p.m.

It was moved by Mr. Crofford, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried to return to regular session at 8:40 p.m.

It was announced that a Special Meeting would be called for Thursday, July 10, 2003 at 5:30 p.m. to consider the appointment of a Superintendent.

It was moved by Mr. Joseph, seconded by Mr. Crofford and carried to approve a $5.00 duplication fee for Drivers Education Completion Forms.

Bids for School Food Service Exterminating Service were opened as follows:

            Positive Pest Control    $264.00 per unit

            Bug Blasters                 $210.53 per unit

It was moved by Mr.  Joseph, seconded by Ms. Rabb and carried unanimously to take the bids under advisement for study and authorize Mr. O’Neal to award the bid to the lowest bidder.

It was moved by Mr. Joseph, seconded by Mr. Crofford and carried unanimously to bring Policy ED - Student Transportation and Management back after a correction had been made as to the passenger capacity of the bus.

It was moved by Rev. Brown, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to advertise for the vacant bus route.

It was moved by Rev Riley, seconded by Mr. Crofford and carried unanimously to add the personnel addendum items to the agenda.

It was moved by Ms. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried unanimously to approve all personnel items as follows.
