PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2005

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at five-thirty  (5:30) o'clock p.m.  The meeting was called to order by Ernest Lynn White,  President, who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were: Mr. Ricky Raven, Mr. Raymond Riley, Mr.  Jerry Roberts, Mr. Gary Parnham, Ms. Martha Rabb, and Ms. Melanie Watson, Mr. Jimmy Wilkinson and Mr. Ernest Lynn White.

Member absent was Ms. Mary Campbell.

Superintendent Laster read the following recommendation into the minutes:

RECOMMENDATION ON BUS DRIVER PAY

Effective date - October 11, 2005

Bus drivers will be paid according to the attached Local Operational Allowance Scale.  This is baded on the average state rate (AAA) of gasoline on the fifteenth or the business day prior to the fifteenth of each month.  The amount will be paid monthly according to days worked each month for a nine month period.

For every $0.07 gas prices go up, the amount paid per route mile will increase $0.01 and for every $0.07 gas prices go down, the amount paid per route mile will decrease $0.01.  Diesel will be paid $0.01 above the gas rate paid per route mile.

The local operational allowance for October was paid October 13, 2005.  Therefore, the new Local Operational Allowance Scale will be used to calculate the November paycheck.

It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Ms. Watson and carried unanimously to approve the superintendent's recommendation.

It was announced that a meeting would be held with the bus drivers to share information on Thursday, October 27, at 9:30 A.M.

It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Wilkinson and carried to adjourn at 5:35 P.M.
