PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A BOARD TRAINING/SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2009    

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at five (5:00) o’clock P.M.  The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gary Parnham, who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were, Ms. Martha Rabb, Sr., Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Deanie Roberts, Ms. Darlene Baker, Mr. Ricky Raven, Mr. Daryle Price, and Ms. Mary Campbell

Member absent was Mr. Raymond Riley.  Mr. Fred T. Butcher arrived at 6:55 P.M.

The training session conducted by Mr. Robert Hammonds and Mr. Jon Guice, Hammonds & Sills Law Firm began promptly.

It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Ms. Rabb and carried unanimously to enter into Executive Session at 5:35 P.M. to discuss strategy and negotiation relative to the plaintiff and the board’s insurer in that matter styled “Easterling V. Concordia Parish School Board” bearing suit No. 03-0985A on the records of the United States District Court for the Western District of La.

It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Ms. Rabb and carried unanimously to return from Executive Session at 6:35 P.M.

It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Ms. Roberts and carried unanimously to authorize counsel to proceed as discussed in Executive Session.

The training session resumed.

It was moved by Ms. Rabb, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried to adjourn at 9:15 P.M.
