PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, JULY 6, 2010

 

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at six (6:00) o’clock P.M.  The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gary Parnham, who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

 

Members present were Ms. Darlene Baker, Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Mary Campbell, Ms. Martha Rabb, Mr. Raymond Riley, Mr. Fred T. Butcher, Ms. Deanie Roberts Collier and Mr. Daryle Price.

 

Mr. Gary Parnham, Board President, announced the vacancy in Ward 4A created by the resignation of Mr. Ricky Raven.  Three candidates had submitted letters of interest.  They were Mr. Ronnie Bradford, Mr. Charles Minor and Mr. Kelvin Dewayne Davis.  The floor was then opened for nominations.

 

Mr. Fred T. Butcher nominated Mr. Kelvin Davis.  The nomination was seconded by Ms. Mary Campbell.  The vote was as follows:

The nomination failed five (5) to three (3).

 

Ms. Darlene Baker nominated Mr. Ronnie Bradford.  The nomination was seconded by Ms. Deanie Roberts Collier.  The vote was as follows:

The nomination passed five (5) to two (2) with Mr. Butcher abstaining.

 

It was announced that the minutes would be prepared for the Board’s approval at the regular meeting on July 8, 2010.  After which, the documentation would be sent to the office of the Secretary of State for a commission to be issued.
