PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, APRIL 14, 2011

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at six (6:00) o’clock P.M..  The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gary Parnham, who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Daryle Price, Mr. Charles Minor, Mr. Raymond Riley, and Mr. Fred T. Butcher.

Members absent were Ms. Martha Rabb, Ms. Cheryl Probst and Ms. Darlene Baker

The following Vidalia Lower Elementary students were recognized for having been chosen for the Sidney A. Murray Citizenship Award:

Jenna Birely                Pre-K                           Sierra Smith                Kindergarten

Destiny Williams         Grade 1                       Shyvlie Blaney            Grade 2

Zachary Nelson, Jalen Russ and Kaitlyn Ballard were recognized for being selected as Chocolate Milk Café writer winners. 

Ms. Carolyn Read was recognized for having been chosen as Social Worker of the Year.

Committee reports were presented.

It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Butcher and carried unanimously that the minutes of March 17, 2011 be approved.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to approve invoices in the amount of $3,982,747 for the month of March 2011.

Mr. Tom O’Neal addressed the Board concerning the disposal of five (5) vehicles.  It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to accept Mr. O’Neal’s recommendation for the proper disposal of these vehicles

It was moved by Ms. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Price and carried unanimously to approve all personnel items in global.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to adjourn at 6:23 P.M.
