PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2011         

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, November 10, 2011.  The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gary Parnham who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Fred T. Butcher, Mr. Daryl Price, Ms. Darlene Baker, Mr. Charles Minor and Ms. Cheryl Probst.

Mr. Raymond Riley arrived at 6:07 P.M.

Member absent was Ms. Martha Rabb.

Ms. Blankenstein recognized the students receiving the Murray Citizenship Awards in Grades 6-8.

Committee reports were presented. 

It was moved by Mr. Price, seconded by Mr. Butcher and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of October 13, 2011.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Ms. Baker and carried unanimously to approve invoices in the amount of $3,600,137 for the month of October.

It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Butcher and carried unanimously to approve the second reading of Policy IDFAB - Sports Injury Management and Concussions.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to approve all policies with the exception of Policy IDFA.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to approve Policy IDFA for the 2012-2013 school year.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to pay all supplement checks on the second Friday with the exception of the January check.  The January check will be paid on the second Friday if possible.  This will be in effect through the year 2014.

It was moved by Ms. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to approve all personnel items as follows in global.

Leaves:

Ashley Prunty, teacher, Ferriday Lower Elementary, professional/educational sabbatical leave, effective January 2, 2012, for the spring semester

Bob Morales, bus driver, extended medical leave upon exhaustion of accumulated sick leave

Christy Thornton, teacher, Vidalia Jr. High, maternity leave, effective January 4, 2012- February 1, 2012

Resignations:

Roddy Chiasson, special education teacher/assistant football coach, Ferriday High School, effective November 4, 2011
