PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 12, 2012
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, January 12, 2012. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gary Parnham who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Fred T. Butcher, Mr. Raymond Riley, Ms. Darlene Baker, Mr. Charles Minor, Ms. Martha Rabb and Ms. Cheryl Probst.
Member absent was Mr. Daryle Price.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Ms. Baker and carried unanimously that the officers remain the same with Mr. Gary Parnham as president and Mr. Raymond Riley as vice-president.
Mr. Parnham announced that the committees will remain as is unless a member requested a change.

It was moved by Ms. Baker, seconded by Ms. Rabb and carried unanimously for the Board meetings to remain on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 P.M.
Committee Reports were presented for each of the respective committees.
It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of December 8, 2011.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Ms. Baker and carried unanimously to approve invoices in the amount of $3,802,409 for the month of December.
It was moved by Ms. Baker, seconded by Ms. Probst and carried unanimously to approve early dismissal days in order for teachers to be briefed on common core curriculum as follows:
January 18, 2012 - Monterey
January 27, 2012 - Ferriday and Ridgecrest
January 31, 2012 - Vidalia
It was moved by Ms. Campbell, seconded by Ms. Rabb and carried unanimously to grant permission for the superintendent to submit the Magnet School Proposal to the Department of Justice.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to approve the first reading of the following policies:
DJE- Purchasing
DJED - Bids and Quotations
GBN - Dismissal of Employees
GBRA - Employee Conduct
Mr. O’Neal reviewed the audit report with Board Members. Members were provided with copies of the audit report earlier for review.
It was moved by Ms. Campbell, seconded by Ms. Baker and carried unanimously to approve all personnel items in global.

Superintendent Blankenstein announced that all schools and offices would be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Butcher and carried unanimously to adjourn at 6:20 P.M.
