PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, JULY 30, 2012
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 6:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gary Parnham, who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Fred T. Butcher, Ms. Darlene Baker, Mr. Charles Minor, Ms. Cheryl Probst, Mr. Raymond Riley, and Mr. Warren Enterkin.
It was moved by Ms. Baker, seconded by Ms. Probst to approve the contract (for three years) with section B to be removed, of Dr. Paul Nelson for superintendent of the Concordia Parish School District.
It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Butcher to amend the motion to make the contract for two and a half years.
The amendment failed five to four on a roll call vote as follows:

The original motion to approve the contract (for three years) with section B to be removed, of Dr. Paul Nelson for superintendent of the Concordia Parish School District passed six to three on a roll call vote.

Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, it was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Ms. Baker and carried that the employee supplements for Fiscal Years 2012/13 and 2013/14 be established in the total amount of $3,500 for certified personnel and $3,300 for Non-Certified personnel.
Payments are to be made as follows:
December - All full time personnel, hired on or before October 1 of each given year, is to receive $1,500, part-time employees are to be paid one-half that amount or $750 (the source of funding is to be 1/3 Property Tax & 2/3 Sales Tax).
January - All full time certified personnel, hired on or before October 1 of each given year, is to receive $1,500, part-time certified employees are to be paid one-half that amount or $750. All full time non-certified personnel are to receive $1,300, part-time non-certified employees are to be paid one -half that amount or $650 (the source of funding is to be Sales Tax).
May - All full time personnel, hired on or before October 1 of each given year, is to receive $500, part-time employees are to receive one-half that amount or $250.
** The above referenced supplements are granted for Fiscal Years 2012/13 and 2013/14 only. Future supplements will be based on the availability of funds and at the discretion of the Board.
It was moved by Mr. Minor, second by Ms. Baker and carried unanimously to approve the job description for Director of Elementary Education.
It was moved by Mr. Enterkin, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to approve the job description for Director of Secondary Education.
It was requested by Mr. Butcher that any change in job descriptions be provided to the board thirty days prior to the meeting.
It was moved by Ms. Baker, seconded by Ms. Probst and carried unanimously to approve the organizational chart.
