PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2013
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, October 10, 2013. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Gary Parnham who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mr. Charles Minor, Ms. Cheryl Probst, Mr. Raymond Riley, Ms. Darlene Baker, Mr. Jeffery Goodman, and Mr. Fred T. Butcher.
Dr. Paul Nelson recognized the students receiving the Murray Citizenship Awards in Grades 9-12.

It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Ms. Campbell and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of September 12, 2013.
It was moved by Ms. Baker, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to approve invoices in the amount of $3,558,837.
It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Enterkin and carried unanimously to consider policies for Approval - First Reading.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to consider the Model School Wellness Policy and waiver the First Reading.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to adopt the Model School Wellness Policy.
It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Enterkin and carried unanimously to consider the Policy on Honorary Diplomas and waiver the First Reading.
It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to accept the Policy on Honorary Diplomas.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mrs. Campbell and carried unanimously to establish a committee to review processes and procedures within the maintenance department. The committee will consist of three: One school board member (Mr. Raymond Riley), one person from the maintenance department (selected only by the maintenance department) and one person the superintendent/school board president select preferably an administrator.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to approve the one-time stipends for April 2014. The one-time amounts will be $525 for certified staff and $250 for non-certified staff.
The Town of Ferriday SRO Agreement was pulled from the agenda due to a disagreement that need to be discussed more.
It was moved by Mr. Enterkin, seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to approve the extension of the Frogmore Agricultural Lease.
It was moved by Mr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Enterkin and carried unanimously to approve the granting of an honorary diploma to Jerry Lee Lewis.

Dr. Paul Nelson made the following announcements:
Kentwood water coolers have been placed in all of the Ferriday Schools.
The First Nine Weeks will end on Friday, October 11, 2013.
Mr. Raymond Riley thanked all the supervisors and directors for attending the school board meeting.
