PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, JUNE 26, 2014.

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 6:00 P.M.  The meeting was called to order by Mr. Raymond Riley, who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Darlene Baker, Mr. Charles Minor, Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Jeffery Goodman and Mr. Raymond Riley.

Members absent were Ms. Cheryl Probst, Mr. Fred T. Butcher, and Mr. Warren Enterkin.

Mr. Tom O’Neal made the announcement of the Board’s intention to adopt its 2014 ad valorem property tax millage rates at the regular scheduled meeting of the Board on August 14, 2014.  The notice will be published in the newspaper on next week.

Dr. Paul Nelson made the following announcements:

Today was the last day of summer school.

BESE has scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, July 1, 2014, regarding the ongoing dispute relative to Common Core State Standards and the PARCC Assessments in Louisiana among state officials.  We will continue to keep you informed as information becomes available regarding this situation.

It was moved by Mr. Parnham, seconded by Ms. Baker and carried unanimously to adjourn at 6:08 p.m.
