PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2014
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, October 9, 2014. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Raymond Riley who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Gary Parnham, Sr., Ms. Mary Campbell, Ms. Cheryl Probst, Mr. Raymond Riley, and Mr. Fred T. Butcher.
Mr. Jeffery Goodman arrived at 6:03 p.m. and Mr. Charles Minor arrived at 6:10 p.m.
Members absent were Mr. Warren Enterkin and Ms. Darlene Baker.
Dr. Paul Nelson recognized the students receiving the Sidney Murray Citizenship Awards in Grades 9-12.

Ms. Spain gave a presentation on the Concordia Conexiones 2014 trip to Costa Rica.
Committee reports were presented.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Ms. Campbell and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of September 11, 2014.
It was moved by Mr. Minor, seconded by Ms. Probst and carried unanimously to approve invoices in the amount of $3,651,785.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to consider policy for Approval - First Reading.
It was moved by Ms. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Minor and carried unanimously to consider policies for Approval – Second Reading.

It was moved by Mr. Parnham, seconded by Ms. Probst and carried unanimously to consider approval of Teacher Hearing Officers. (Mr. Butcher asked Dr. Nelson to check to see if a female officer can be placed on the list in case of a sexual harassment issue.)
It was moved by Mr. Parnham, seconded by Ms. Probst and carried unanimously to approve the one-time stipends for November 2014. The one-time amounts will be $500 for full-time employees and $250 for part-time employees.

Thursday October 30, 2014 3:00 p.m. Central Louisiana Technical College – Ferriday
Vidalia Lower Elementary School, Vidalia Junior High School and Concordia Education Center were chosen for having the cleanest schools for the quarter.
Mr. Riley made the suggestion for teachers and all other employees to wear their Identification Badges at all time while at work.
