PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2015
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, November 12, 2015. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Raymond Riley who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Ronnie Bradford, Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Fred T. Butcher, Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mr. Jeffery Goodman, Mr. John Bostic, Ms. Cheryl Probst, Mr. Rickey Raven and Mr. Raymond Riley.
Dr. Paul Nelson recognized the students receiving the Murray Citizenship Awards in Grades 6-8.

Committee reports were presented.
It was moved by Mr. Bradford, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried to approve the minutes of October 8, 2015.
Let the record show that Ms. Mary Campbell did not approve the personnel portion of the minutes.
It was moved by Mr. Enterkin, seconded by Mr. Butcher and carried unanimously to approve invoices in the amount of $3,589,552 for the month of October.
It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Mr. Bradford to add an item to the agenda to put the Leadership Development Program Academy on hold. Motion failed eight to one.

It was moved by Mr. Bradford, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried unanimously to approve the first reading of the following policies.
GAK – Personnel Records JBD – Student Absences & Excuses
GAMFA – Employee Communicable Diseases JDD - Suspension
IDCJ – Supplemental Educational Services JGCC – Student Communicable Diseases
II – Testing Program
It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Mr. Bradford and carried unanimously to approve the board meetings dates for 2016.
It was moved by Mr. Bradford, seconded by Mr. Bostic and carried unanimously to approve Lincoln Parish School Board becoming a member of the Child Nutrition Purchasing Cooperative.
It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Mr. Bradford and carried unanimously for the board to enter into Executive Session at 6:18 p.m. to discuss a personnel issue.
It was moved by Ms. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Bradford and carried unanimously to return to Regular Session at 7:20 p.m.
The following personnel announcements were made:
Leaves:
Frances Nolan, teacher, Vidalia Upper Elementary School, regular sick leave, effective October 20, 2015 through May 20, 2016.
Shanna Pollard, teacher, CPAMST, return from extended sick leave effective November 2, 2015.
Transfers:
Amy Lucas, SFS technician, Ferriday High School to SFS technician CPAMST, effective October 15, 2015.
Resignations:

Dr. Nelson made the following announcements:
Congratulations to the Ferriday High School Trojans Football Team for making the playoffs.
They will host West St. John on Friday night.
Ferriday High School Basketball team will host the Concordia Jamboree on Saturday, November 14, 2015, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The jamboree will be held at the Ferriday Junior High School gymnasium.
The extra $500 checks that the board authorized will be distributed to all employees on Friday, November 13, 2015.
The third Friday, November 20, 2015, will be pay day for our employees.
