PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, JULY, 14 2016

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at 6:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Raymond Riley who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mr. Ronnie Bradford, Ms. Cheryl Probst,               

Mr. Raymond Riley, Mr. Rickey Raven, Mr. John Bostic and Mr. Raymond Riley, Sr.

Members absent were Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Fred T. Butcher and Mr. Jeffery Goodman.

Committee reports were provided by each committee chairperson.

It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Mr. Bostic and carried to approve the minutes of June 9, 2016.

It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Mr. Enterkin and carried unanimously to approve invoices in the amount of $3,933,088.

It was moved by Mr. Bradford, seconded by Ms. Probst and carried unanimously to approve the Second Reading of Policy JCDAE – “Electronic Devices”.

It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Mr. Bradford and carried unanimously to approve the  First Reading of the following policies:

Mrs. Loretta Blankenstein made the following announcements:                                                                                   

Principals will return to work on Monday, July 18, 2016.

Mrs. Blankenstein announced to the public that at the August meeting we will have a public hearing and at the regular meeting following we will be asking the board to levy tax.

We have assistant principal changes at Vidalia High School, Ferriday Upper Elementary and Monterey High School.  We also have a lead administrator at Monterey High School retiring.

Due to school opening on Monday, August 8, 2016, the committee meetings will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
