PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A PUBLIC HEARING HELD ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 11, 2016
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in a Public Hearing at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 6:00 P.M. The Public Hearing was called to order by Mr. Raymond Riley, Sr. who turned the floor over to Mr. Tom O’Neal, Director of Business Affairs. Mr. O’Neal explained the purpose of the hearing which was to discuss the Ad Valorem Tax Millages for 2016, and to allow public input. Mr. O’Neal explained the amounts of the millages as follows:
Constitutional 2.81
Additional Construction and Operations 12.86
Maintenance and Operation of System 24.74
The Board solicited questions from the public. There were no questions. It was moved by Mr. Bradford, seconded by Mrs. Probst and carried unanimously to adjourn at 6:09 P.M.

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 6:09 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Raymond Riley, Sr. who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mr. Fred T. Butcher, Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Ronnie Bradford, Ms. Cheryl Probst, Mr. Raymond Riley, Mr. John Bostic, Mr. Jeffery Goodman and Mr. Rickey Raven.
Committee reports were provided by each committee chairperson.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Ms. Campbell and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of July 14, 2016.
It was moved by Mr. Bradford, seconded by Mr. Enterkin and carried unanimously to approve invoices in the amount of $3,689,746.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Ms. Probst and carried unanimously to approve the resolution for the adoption of the tax millages for 2016 as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the following millage(s) is hereby levied on the 2016 tax roll, on all property subject to taxation by the Concordia Parish School Board.
1) Constitutional 2.81 Mills
2) Additional support for maintaining
and operating of parish schools 24.74 Mills
3) Acquiring and construction of additional classrooms and
for the providing of additional support for public education 12.86 Mills
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper administrative officials of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, be and they are hereby empowered, authorized, and directed to spread said taxes, as hereinabove set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Parish for the year 2016, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and that the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
The foregoing resolution was read in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the resolution was adopted by the following votes:
