PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, JUNE 1, 2017.

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, June 1, at 6:00 P.M.  The meeting was called to order by Mr. Raymond Riley, who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Ms. Mary Campbell, Mr. Jeffery Goodman, Mr. John Bostic, Mr. Rickey Raven and Mr. Raymond Riley, Sr.

Members absent were Mr. Ronnie Bradford, Mr. Fred T. Butcher, and Ms. Cheryl Probst.

Mr. Bob Hammonds, the school board attorney, went over the process with the school board members on the procedures for superintendent selection.

It was moved by Mr. Raven and seconded by Mr. Goodman and carried to interview all candidates for superintendent.

Roll Call Vote:

                                    Ms. Mary Campbell – Yes

                                    Mr. Jeffery Goodman – Yes

                                    Mr. Rickey Raven – Yes

                                    Mr. Raymond Riley – Yes

                                    Mr. Warren Enterkin – No

                                    Mr. John Bostic – No

Mr. John Bostic left after roll call vote at approximately 6:15 p.m.

The candidates were randomly selected for order of interview.

Candidates were selected in the following order:

June 5, 2017:   (1) Robert Whestly Shirley, Jr.

                        (2) Arlana Davis

                        (3) Byron Lyons

                        (4) Rodney Lloyd

June 6, 2017:  (1) Timothy Scott

                        (2) David Gray

                        (3) Ronald Lofton, Sr.

                        (4) Spurgeon Banyard

It was moved by Mr. Raven, and seconded by Mr. Goodman and carried unanimously to select the top three superintendent candidates at the regular board meeting on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

It was moved Mr. Raven, and seconded by Mr. Enterkin and carried unanimously to interview all candidates for superintendent in executive session unless the candidate objects.
