PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2019

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 6:00 o’clock p.m.  The meeting was called to order by Dr. Raymond Riley who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mrs. Dorothy Parker, Mr. Fred Butcher, Mr. Derrick Carson, Mr. John Bostic, Ms. Angela Hayes, Mrs. Lisette Forman, Mr. Ricky Raven, and Dr. Raymond Riley.

It was moved by Mr. Bucher, seconded by Mrs. Parker and unanimously carried to add “Executive Session” to the Agenda.  Mr. Butcher stated that they will discuss staff at Ferriday area schools, teacher certification, workshops, and salaries.  Mr. Butcher asked Mrs. Rhonda Moore, Ms. Toyua Watson, and Mrs. Darla Johnston to attend the Executive Session.

It was moved by Mr. Bostic, seconded by Ms. Hayes and carried to go into Executive Session at 6:05 p.m.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mrs. Parker and carried to come out of Executive Session at 7:48 p.m.

Dr. Riley stated that they discussed some personnel issues.

It was moved by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Butcher and carried to give the Superintendent the authority to send a letter to the Board Attorney asking for legal authority in recouping Title I funds used in training teachers who leave before fulfilling their duties.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Bostic and carried to refer Principal’s Salary to the Finance Committee; and, to assign Toyua Watson ½ a day to Ferriday High School and that she be given compensation for doing so.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried to adjourn at 7:51 p.m.
