PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A REGULAR MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, JULY 11, 2019
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Regular Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 6:00 o’clock p.m. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Raymond Riley, who declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mrs. Dorothy Parker, Mr. Fred Butcher, Mr. Derrick Carson, Ms. Angela Hayes, Mr. Ricky Raven, and Dr. Raymond Riley.
Board Member absent was Mr. John Bostic and Ms. Lisette Forman.
Committee Reports were presented.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Carson to add an item to the agenda to discuss the roof options at the Concordia Education Center.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mrs. Parker and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of the Special meeting on June 10, 2019 and the Regular Board Meeting held on June 13, 2019.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Enterkin and carried unanimously to approve invoices and financial report for the month of June 2019.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mrs. Parker and carried unanimously to approve the first reading of the following policy:
JGCB-Immunizations
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr Carson and carried unanimously to renew the November supplement for the amount of $1200 through June 30, 2022.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Enterkin and carried unanimously to increase the November supplement from $1200 to $2000 through June 30, 2022.
Dr. Riley indicated that after the previous month’s discussion concerning state and local salary adjustments, considerations should be given to an additional $400 adjustment for all personnel.
After discussion, it was moved by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried that additional salary supplements, in the amount of $200, be provided to all personnel during the months of March and May. After explaining his reasons, Mr. Fred Butcher opposed the motion. The supplement to be paid during the month of March is newly established. The one in May is in addition to the supplemental payment currently being offered. These newly established supplements are to be paid in the same and like manner as all other such supplements, and are to maintain the same expiration date as applicable to the current May issuance.
It was moved by Mr. Carson, seconded by Ms. Parker and carried unanimously to follow the recommendation from the Business Director to pay the cost of the annual CDL medical and physical examinations for the five CPSB bus drivers.
It was moved by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried unanimously for the Business Director and the Superintendent to contact the school board attorney to see if the Durham bus contract is binding and if not, to review what options are available to the board.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Carson and carried unanimously for the schools to bring any complaints about Durham bus service to the Superintendent and Maintenance Supervisor and for the Superintendent to address these concerns with Durham within 10 days.
It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried unanimously for specs to be drawn up for the roof at the Concordia Education Center and brought back to the board for approval.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mrs. Parker and carried unanimously to adjourn at 7:19 p.m.
