PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2019.

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, on Monday, September 23 at 6:00 P.M.  The meeting was called to order by Dr. Raymond Riley, who after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Ms. Dorothy Parker, Mr. Fred Butcher, Mr. Derrick Carson, Mr. John Bostic, Ms. Angela Hayes, Ms Lisette Forman, Mr. Ricky Raven and Dr. Raymond Riley.

It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Mr. Bostic and carried unanimously to enter into Executive Session at 6:02 p.m. to Pursuant La.R.S.42:6.1 to discuss the superintendent’s contract.

It was moved by Ms. Parker, seconded by Mr. Bostic and carried unanimously to return to Regular Session at 6:14 p.m.

It was moved by Mr. Bostic, seconded by Mr. Raven to renew the superintendent’s contract. The motion carried 8-1 on a roll call vote.

It was moved by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Ms. Parker to add a third person, Mr. Derrick Carson, to the superintendent’s contract committee contingent that it is legal to do so. The motion carried 8-1 on a roll call vote.

The Superintendent made the following announcements:

·        The Career / College Fair was a huge success last Friday. We had over 500 students attend and had 38 Vendors.

·        Enclosed is a BESE map that shows our district. Notice we are in the 5^th BESE District. Election will be October 12, 2019.

·        FHS hosts Rayville and VHS host Caldwell Friday night.

It was moved by Mr. Raven, seconded by Mr. Bostic and carried unanimously to adjourn at 6:20 p.m.
