PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2020

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board office in Vidalia, Louisiana, and via Zoom Teleconference, on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 6:00 o’clock p.m.  The meeting was called to order by Mr. Fred Butcher.  After prayer and the Pledge, Mr. Butcher declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.

Members present were Mrs. Dorothy Parker, Dr. Raymond Riley, Mr. Derrick Carson, Mr. Fred Butcher, Mr. John Bostic, Ms. Angela Hayes, Mrs. Lisette Forman, and Mr. Ricky Raven.

Board Member absent was Mr. Warren Enterkin.

Each Principal was given the opportunity to present their plan for making sure social distancing guidelines are in use, sanitizing, etc. for the reopening of schools.

It was moved by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Bostic and Mrs. Forman and carried to approve the reopening of schools (Phase 3) for all Hybrid Students on September 21, 2020, for 4 days a week.

All Virtual Students will remain virtual and will have the option to return to school on October 14, 2020.

Mr. Shirley stated that we have a good pool of old Substitutes that are ready to go back to work tomorrow.  This week we will begin COVID-19 training in small groups.  Substitutes will come through the Central Office.  We will try to contain them to one school.

There was no Executive Session.

Mr. Shirley announced that in recognition of all teachers, Mrs. Smith, Ms. Watson and myself will be sending Teacher Appreciation goodies to all of the schools.

It was moved by Dr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Bostic and carried to adjourn at 7:50 p.m.
