PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2021
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board Office in Vidalia, Louisiana, and via Zoom Teleconference on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 6:00 o’clock p.m. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Fred Butcher who, after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mrs. Dorothy Parker, Dr. Raymond Riley, Mr. Derrick Carson, Mr. John Bostic, Mr. Ricky Raven, and Mr. Fred Butcher.
Members absent were Ms. Angela Hayes and Mrs. Lisette Forman.
Superintendent Watson introduced the new secretary to the superintendent, Cindy Sanders.
It was moved by Mr. Carson and seconded by Mr. Riley and carried unanimously to add an agenda item to consider renewing the contract to maintain the football fields in the parish.

It was moved by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Bostic and carried unanimously to accept the draft of the mask mandate regarding staff provided by the governor of Louisiana and the CDC.
It was moved by Dr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Bostic and unanimously carried to increase the annual teacher supply allotments to $200.00 with the teachers able to check with other sources to spend the second $100 with the administrator approving the legitimacy of the purchases.
It was moved by Dr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Bostic and unanimously carried to renew the contract with Gameday Turf Specialists, LLC to aerate and apply fertilizer and weed killer to the football fields with the school principals in charge of keeping up with the work being done and the term of the contract. The district will pay the total cost for the fields involved.
There was no executive session.
There was discussion on the personnel announcements that were placed in the folders by Ms. Rhonda Moore.
The following announcements were made by Superintendent Watson:
1. According to attorney Jon Guice, if a staff member or student has a doctor’s excuse for not wearing a mask, we do not question it. We will accept the doctor’s opinion as it is given.
2. The district will provide masks to anyone who is riding on a school bus. The bus driver will hand out masks if needed.
