PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2021
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Session at the Concordia Parish School Board Office in Vidalia, Louisiana, and via Zoom Teleconference on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 6:00 o’clock p.m. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Fred Butcher who, after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mrs. Dorothy Parker, Dr. Raymond Riley, Mr. Derrick Carson, Ms. Angela Hayes, Mr. Ricky Raven, and Mr. Fred Butcher.
Members absent were Mr. John Bostic and Mrs. Lisette Forman.
Mr. Tom O’Neal opened the bids received for the paving project, titled CPSB Street Repairs 2021 Roadway, Parking Lot Paving and/or Repairs.

It was moved by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried unanimously by roll call vote to take the bids under advisement and if in order, the superintendent and business director will award the bid to the lowest responsive bidder.

Mr. Butcher announced that Item B has been deleted.
Dr. Brenda Moore, Director of Child Welfare and Attendance, presented a proposed discipline plan for Ferriday High School. This matter was deliberated on by a committee and it concerns the issue of discipline and the administration of discipline for physical altercations at each CPSB school. The proposed discipline matrix: 1st fight, assigned three (3) days to the CEC; 2nd fight, assigned five (5) days to the CEC; and 3rd fight, assigned to the CEC for the remainder of the school year. If approved by the board, this policy will be shared with all stakeholders by J-Call, Post on CPSB Website/Facebook Page, Mailed Letter, and at a Community Meeting at FHS. The policy will go into effect the following day, October 27, 2021. Dr. Moore noted that this proposed discipline plan is only temporary. The goal of the committee is to establish a district-wide Code of Conduct for the incoming 2022-23 school year.
It was moved by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Raven and carried by roll call vote that the plan presented be adopted with the wording included that if an administrator, teacher or another staff member observes the actions leading up to the incident, their opinion is considered before any discipline is applied.
