PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING HELD VIA ZOOM ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 7, 2022
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in Special Called Session via Zoom Teleconference on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 12:00 PM noon. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Fred Butcher who, after prayer and the Pledge, declared that the Board was ready for the transaction of business.
Board Members present were Mr. Warren Enterkin, Mrs. Dorothy Parker, Dr. Raymond Riley, Mr. Derrick Carson, Ms. Angela Hayes, Mrs. Lisette Forman, Mr. Ricky Raven, Mr. Nicky Pere, and Mr. Fred Butcher.
The first item on the agenda was whether the district schools should go virtual. Superintendent Watson noted that this issue is not regarding students, but the absence of staff members.

After discussion, Superintendent Watson recommended that Ferriday and Vidalia schools be allowed to go virtual for the next five days with the virtual learning days starting Tuesday and work days for staff and teachers on Monday, and we’ll visit this again during next Thursday’s board meeting.
On a motion by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mrs. Parker and carried the board voted to accept the superintendent’s recommendation, but apply it to all Concordia Parish schools. Mr. Butcher asked for a roll call vote:

The vote carried with 8 Yeas and 1 Nay.
It was moved by Dr. Riley, seconded by Mr. Raven, and carried unanimously to adjourn at 12:57 PM.
