Agenda & Discussion Points

1.         Football Field Maintenance Plan

·         Mrs. Bachus developed a delegation of responsibility plan but requires final input from professional entities responsible for grass coding and field construction.

·         Mr. Art Goode recommended restricting access to the field to prevent damage.

·         The junior high should coordinate their home games to align with high school away games whenever possible.

·         All practices should be relocated to an alternative location to preserve the field.

·         Mr. Henderson is collaborating with Mr. Wilson to explore temporary lighting solutions for the football field.

·         Discussion included the possibility of disking the practice field and requesting the recreation department to install fencing.

2.         Parking Lot at Vidalia Junior High & Pickup Area Behind Vidalia Lower Elementary

·         Mr. Henderson will contact the Police Jury for assistance, as previous alternative solutions have not been effective in sustaining the weather conditions.

3.         Ferriday High School Beautification

·         A brief discussion was held regarding beautification efforts.

·         The Superintendent confirmed that the electrical component is already on the agenda for review.

4.         Baseball and Softball Facilities at Ferriday High School

·         FHS now has baseball and softball teams but lacks a proper facility for home games.

·         Key needs identified:

      Concession stand

      Field conditions

o    Lighting

Mr. Henderson will seek support from the recreation department to determine which aspects they can assist with.

5.         Ferriday Upper Elementary Hallway Maintenance

Paint is peeling in the hallways, despite a recent repainting.

Mr. Henderson, Maintenance Supervisor, noted that the incorrect type of paint was previously used.

6.         Non-Working District Vehicles

In a previous meeting, the Superintendent was asked to provide a list of all non-working vehicles within the district. This information was presented to the committee.

Mr. Carson suggested reaching out to Tom O’Neal for guidance on next steps and adding the matter to the agenda for board action.
