J. W. Calhoun updated the members present on the meeting that was held on Sunday, October 21, 1991, at Ferriday Lower Elementary.  He stated that the meeting was a "brainstorming" session to come up with ideas to help promote the school millage.

Upon the recommendation of Walter Stampley  it was decided rather than  to  have different board members going before the employees  the superintendent and board president should present the information to the groups in joint meetings of the school employees in the different areas.  It was the consensus that board members should be present for support, but not to answer questions.

Johnnie Brown arrived at the meeting at five forty-five (5:45) o'clock p.m.

It was decided to hold a special meeting at one location for all bus operators.

The board felt that the parent organization leaders should be contacted to be present at the meetings in the different areas.

All retired employees should receive a fact sheet in their envelopes with their insurance benefit checks, and all regular employees in their paycheck envelopes.

The superintendent is to appear before different civic clubs to request their assistance with the passage of the millage.

Each school should contact several of their parent workers to ask them to help promote the millage perhaps by a door to door campaign or telephone campaign.

Johnnie Brown felt as though the local authorities such as police jury, townships, etc. should be contacted and asked to adopt a resolution to support the millage.

Superintendent Chelette is to contact the LSBA and attorney to see if the school board can legally distribute information on the school millage, if they can pay for advertisement, etc.

The board suggested that one of the teacher organizations purchase a list of registered voters.

The board felt that the employees should be involved in a door-to-door campaign to help promote the millage.

The meeting was adjourned at six forty-five (6:45) o'clock p.m.
