PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA TAKEN AT A COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 14, 1992.
The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in committee at the Concordia Parish School Board Office in Vidalia, Louisiana on Tuesday, January 14, 1992, at five-thirty (5:30) o'clock p.m.
Members present were Honorable J.W. Calhoun, President; Mrs. Marie Cowan; Mr. Manson Nelson; Mrs. Polly Miley; Mr. Charles Partridge; Mr Walter Stampley; and Mrs. Georgia Washington.
Members absent were Rev. Johnnie Brown and Mr. Jerry King.
Mr. Calhoun called for a moment of silence in memory of former school board member, Gilbert Savoy. The meeting was opened with prayer led by Mr. Nelson, and the pledge was recited.
Rev. Johnnie Brown was present at five forty-five (5:45) o'clock p.m.
Superintendent Lee informed the board that Mr. Tom O'Neal, Director of Business Affairs, would present the first three items on the agenda.
Mr. O'Neal discussed the financial items and answered questions from the board on these reports.
Mr. Stampley commended Mr. O'Neal on his "presentation of these reports."
Superintendent Lee informed the board that a more simplified version of these reports was in the making and would be presented at a later date. He also noted that in the future, recommendations will be made on the basis of two things: (1) the effect it would have on the child in the classroom and (2) how cost effective is the proposal.
Superintendent Lee then briefly discussed the job descriptions for maintenance workers. These two job descriptions were for Maintenance - Skilled Worker and Maintenance - Supportive Services Secretary.
Superintendent Lee then asked for board members to call in by Friday, January 17, to inform him of their intentions to go to the upcoming Louisiana School Board Association convention. This information was needed in order to send the necessary registrations by the deadline.
Superintendent Lee briefly discussed other miscellaneous information.
It was moved by Mr. Stampley, seconded by Rev. Brown and carried to adjourn.
The meeting was adjourned at six twenty-five (6:25) p.m. o'clock.
