PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF CONCORDIA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 1992.

 

The School Board of the Parish of Concordia, State of Louisiana, met in special session at the Concordia Parish School Board Office in Vidalia, Louisiana on Tuesday, September 29, 1992 at five-thirty (5:30) o'clock p.m.  The meeting was called to order by the Honorable J.W. Calhoun, President, who declared that the board after prayer led by Mrs. Polly Miley and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, was ready for the transaction of business.

 

Members present were:  Honorable J.W. Calhoun, President; Mrs. Marie Cowan; Mr. Jerry King; Mrs. Polly Miley; Mr. Walter Stampley; and Mrs. Georgia Washington.

 

Members absent:  Rev. Johnnie Brown; Mr. Manson Nelson; and Mr. Charles Partridge.

 

Tom O'Neal, Director of Business Affairs, introduced Allen Offner, an attorney with the law firm of Foley and Judell, school board bonding attorneys.  Mr. Offner presented the peremption resolution and answered questions.  It was moved by Mr. Stampley, seconded by Mr. King and carried unanimously to approve the resolution.

 

It was moved by Mr. King, seconded by Mr. Stampley and carried unanimously to approve the Revised Budget.

 

Superintendent Lee recommended that the board approve bidding the repair work on school roofs on an individual basis to enable local firms to compete more readily. It was moved by Mrs. Miley, seconded by Mrs. Washington and carried unanimously to accept bids on three roofs MHS, VJH, and FUE, to be repaired one at a time.

 

It was moved by Mr. King, seconded by Mrs. Cowan and carried unanimously to move to executive session to discuss land Section 64 T2N-R8E at five fifty-five (5:55) o'clock p.m. 

It was moved by Mrs. Cowan, seconded by Mr. King and carried unanimously to resume open session at six twenty-six (6:26) o'clock p.m.  Mr. Calhoun reported that during the session it was decided that Superintendent Lee and Mr. Magee would do a title opinion on school board land Section 64 T2N-R8E.

 

It was moved by Mr. Stampley, seconded by Mr. King and carried unanimously to adjourn at six twenty-seven (6:27) o'clock p.m.
