ELECTRONIC TELECOMMUNICATIONS DEVICES

 

 

No employee, unless authorized by his/her immediate supervisor or designee, shall use or operate any electronic telecommunication device, including any facsimile system, radio paging service, mobile telephone service, intercom, or electromechanical paging system in any elementary or secondary school building, or on the grounds thereof or in any school bus during instructional time and/or the performance of his/her assigned duties, including Special Food Service personnel and bus operators.  A violation of these provisions shall be grounds for disciplinary action to include one (1) to five (5) days suspension without pay and/or termination.

 

Employee Cellular Phone Use

 

The use of cellular telephones by personnel during normal working hours on a school campus must be approved by the principal, and the approval is only to be made in a unique situation such as a health issue or family crisis.  Cellular telephones are not to be turned on unless the employee has special permission to do so as indicated above.  All incoming calls to employees are to be made through the school office. 

 

The use of cellular telephones by personnel during instructional time shall be strictly prohibited.  Use of cellular telephones during planning time, lunch or recess shall be permitted with the discretion of the principal.
