ELECTRONIC DEVICES

 

 

No student shall have in his/her possession, use or operate any electronic device, including any facsimile system, radio paging service, mobile telephone service (cell phones and camera phones), intercom, or electro-mechanical paging system, ipods, ipads, MP3, CD players, or any similar devices, in any elementary or secondary school building, or on the grounds thereof, or in any school bus used to transport public school students, unless authorized by the principal of school designee.

 

Students shall be required to leave all electronic devices in their vehicles or to voluntarily submit them to the principal or his/her designee upon arriving at school.  Students who submit their devices to the principal shall have them returned at the end of the school day.

 

For purposes of this policy, the terms use and operation shall mean whenever the electronic device is turned on.

 

VIOLATIONS

 

First Offense:

 

Confiscation of the device and returned to the parent

 

Second Offense:

 

Confiscation of the device and returned to the parent at the end of the nine-weeks period with a one day suspension

 

Third Offense: 

Confiscation of the device and returned to the parent at the end of the nine-weeks period with a three day suspension
